- Nissan suffered a financial setback that almost broke it 25 years ago. The Japanese brand was saved by Renault, which still holds a third of its shares.
But now, the Asian brand is going through another financial slump, so much so that it tried, but failed, to form a partnership with Honda. Despite this refusal, there are large Asian economic groups interested in becoming partners and recovering the brand.
Renault itself has lost interest and is putting its stake in Nissan up for sale. Meanwhile, in Brazil, everything is business as usual, Nissan continues to operate and invest.
So much so that the automaker announced a new Frontier that will come from Mexico, updates to the two Versa and Sentra sedans and a new Kicks, a market success, arriving in the coming days.
