This is just a short list of similarities which on editor came up with, ie it's mostly if not entirely original research. Beach drifter (talk) 17:50, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Article topic doesn't meet GNG. Only one source on the article refers to similarities between the two entities in reference to penal punishments which if deemed worthy could be included in other articles. Article reads very much like an essay by the article creator. The very first sentence is a very contentious claim that the Saudi Arabia government directly helped ISIL over a number of years. Something even our article on ISIL doesn't make, indeed it makes the opposite statement. The last sentence refers to ISIL as a country which is a claim not recognised by any state/country in the world. At best this is an attempt by the article creator at synthesis WP:SYNTH while at worst I fear it is an attempt to advocate for ISIL by pointing out similarities between it and one of the leading Muslim countries. The statement about me calling ISIS a "country" was translated from the Spanish Wikipedia, so there will inevitably be some mistakes. Saudi Arabia directly helping ISIS was the subject of an article in The Independent.--Eat me, I'm a red bean (discuss)(contribs) 01:33, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you're referring to the The Independent ref in the article, it is an opinion piece and should be credited as such. It also makes the claim that individuals contributed not that the government did. Cowlibob (talk) 09:41, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In principle I would not be opposed to that but it would require a complete rewrite of the article as those are topics covered in the current article. Cowlibob (talk) 09:41, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, original research and misrepresented sources. Articles on other topics related to ISIL and Saudi Arabia might be written; this is beyond salvage. Huon (talk) 00:31, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
